Taking care of the Earth seems like a huge, overwhelming job. There are so many things to think about and so much to be done! Where should you start? Well, I think that we can break this huge problem down into 4 steps: Appreciating nature, Learning about the environmental problems we are facing, Taking action and Spreading the word.
- Appreciate Nature! Observe the nature and wildlife around you. Appreciate its beauty and think about how important it is in your life. Go to the forest or park or even look at the trees and flowers around you. Take pictures of the flowers, birds, plants and everything else you see!
- Learn! There’s so much to learn about – from melting icecaps to polluted bodies of water, to landfills, endangered species and more! Find out what the problem is, why it’s happening and what it’s doing to us and our planet. There are so many huge problems facing the environment and its inhabitants and there’s so much to know. In order to help the Earth you’ll first have to be well educated.
- Take Action! Once you know about why you need to take action, now’s the time to start! There are tons of things that you can do, either on your own or with others. Start with small things in your own house and then start bigger projects in your community. You have the power to make a huge difference!!!
- Spread the Word! Now that you know about what’s going on, it’s time to start spreading your knowledge to others! With more and more people taking action, imagine how much change we can make! If you teach someone about these problems,then they’ll pass it on and whoever they tell will pass it on again and the chain will go on and on. It’s important that we try to educate as many people as possible about these problems!!!
If you follow these steps, you’ll be making a huge difference! And remember, these steps never end. You can always continue to appreciate nature and there’s always more to learn. And no matter what, you’ll always be able to take action and keep spreading the word!!!
