Have tons of old paper that you think is ‘useless’? Use it to create your own personalized recycled journal!
You will need:
- Sheets of paper with one side blank and one side used (NOTE: 6 sheets = 24 pg. book <including title page>)
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Hole puncher
- Decorations, crayons, etc. (optional)
How to make:
1. Fold one sheet of paper in half, so that it makes a hamburger fold
2. Cut down the fold lines. Repeat for every sheet of paper.
3. Fold each sheet of paper in half again so that it makes a hamburger fold. (NOTE: make sure that the used side is on the inside and the unused side is visible)
4. Use the hole punch to create holes in the sheets of paper along the cut edge (NOTE: do not put the holes along the folded side.)
5. Thread the yarn into the holes, then cut it and tie it with a knot (you should double knot).
6. Decorate the outside cover and the back cover if desired. You’re done!
Ideas: You can also decorate your recycled journal with all kinds of stuff, like old candy wrappers, old sheets of coloured paper, cloth and old pictures that are no longer wanted.
More ideas: Another idea for this is to make and sell these journals, then donate the money you earned towards an environmental society or a charity.
