At 8:30pm on Saturday March 26th, join people from all over the world in Earth Hour, by switching off all the lights in your house for an hour! This event brings the whole world together to make a difference and shows that we can make every hour earth hour. It shows that we are able to work together and take a stand for issues facing all of us.

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. A year later, Earth Hour, a global sustainability movement started with people from all over the world participating.

Last year, Earth Hour grew even more, becoming the biggest ever with 128 countries participating. We came together to make a difference and commit to working together to save our planet. Our future depends on our nations working together to decrease our environmental impact.

This year, participate in Earth Hour so that you can contribute to this worldwide sustainability movement. As well, go beyond the hour by thinking of other ways you can make a difference in your daily life! Together we can make a difference!

Here is a fictional astrology we created based on the twelve months of the year: each month features a different eco-astrology. These descriptions may not be accurate, but we hope that you have fun with it! This month, the month of March, features the astrology of a Tree-Spirit!

March: TREE-SPIRIT

Intro: Have you ever traced your fingers over the patterns on a tree trunk? Do they feel cool and mysterious to you? Have you ever pressed leaves inside an album? Most of the time, tree-spirits enjoy long walks in the forest when there’s a light rain outdoors. The things they enjoy most about the forest are the trees, of course.

Pros: Tree-spirits are very loyal and good secret-keepers. They are swift and fleet-footed, making hardly any noise as they brush across the ground.

Cons: Tree-spirits can be a bit too secretive. At times they stare into the distance and their expressions are unreadable. It’s very common to see one daydreaming or just sitting there.

Environmental cons: A great number of trees are becoming chopped down and used for paper, wood and furniture; animals are losing their homes and shelters. Protest to paper companies about the amount of trees becoming cut down.
